Hospice supporters have been pushing for the Palliative Care and Hospice Education Training Act since 2017. Defeated for the 3rd time December 2022.

The recent ProPublica and the New Yorker investigation on fraud and abuse by U.S. Hospice care has pushed legislators and Government Agencies to re-evaluate regulatory changes for Hospice care.

Palliative care is oriented toward people with chronic conditions, while hospice is geared toward people who are dying. Inappropriately connecting the two pushes patients down a path toward death long before they become terminal.
